Southern Utah Hotels
The Abbey Inn is closer to Zion, southern Utah’s top attraction, than you would think!
Setting it apart from other southern Utah hotels, the Abbey Inn of Cedar City’s friendly staff members will do their best to make you feel at home. Every one of our 83 well-appointed suites features a queen or king bed, a microwave, high-speed Internet access, a refrigerator, and a 27-inch television with cable and HBO. Southern Utah University, the cultural heart of Cedar City, is only three blocks from hotel. Abbey Inn guests can enjoy a full complimentary breakfast or choose to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner at our in-house restaurant or one of the many eateries within three blocks of our hotel.
Many other southern Utah hotels are not within an hour-and-a-half drive from southern Utah’s two most-visited national parks – Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. The Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park is only 19 miles south of the Abbey Inn. This serene area of an otherwise crowded park offers a five-mile scenic drive that highlights the section’s narrow canyons and towering stone formations. The drive includes many scenic turnoffs and provides access to three trails, the Taylor Creek Trail, the Timber Creek Overlook Trail and the LaVerkin Creek Trail. The Taylor Creek Trail conducts hikers along a streambed to a picturesque double arch alcove. Only a one-mile round trip, the Timber Creek Overlook Trail starts at the end of the scenic drive and provides scenic vistas in every direction. The LaVerkin Creek Trail leads to Kolob Arch, one of the longest spanning arches in the world.
Another reason Abbey Inn of Cedar City stands out compared to other southern Utah hotels is its fantastic special packages. It provides getaway packages that include one of its most luxurious suites, dinner at one of Cedar City’s most popular eateries, and a bag of goodies. The hotel provides special room rates for skiers as well as three different Utah Shakespearean Festival packages. Southern Utah University, the host of the Utah Shakespearean Festival and other first-rate annual events such as the Utah Summer Games, is only three blocks away.
