TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD opens at the Shakespeare Festival

Tomorrow, June 21st, is the opening day at the Utah Shakespeare Festival here in Cedar City.  They will be kicking off this season with an evening performance of Charles Sergel’s theatrical adaption of To Kill a Mockingbird, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee.

Those who are familiar with this beloved American classic will appreciate Sergel’s skillful compression of events and faithful depiction of characters: Scout, Jeb, Atticus, Boo Radley, etc.

Once you have seen this play, feel free to share your experience with us.  What was your opinion of the director’s vision for this story?  How were the actors?  Did you feel that the play was faithful to the novel?  Were there any aspects to the story that were enhanced by the dramatization?

As always, make sure you book your room at the Abbey Inn.  During the summer, our rooms fill quickly, so plan ahead.  Enjoy!
